MUTANT ABILITIES
PRIMARY ABILITIES
Psionic Energy Manipulation.
Lana is able to form physical psionic constructs in the form of energy “blades” from her hands.At its maximum, the psionic energy can extend about four and a half feet total. That is, if she makes two “blades,” they each can only be a little more than two feet a piece at maximum. The energy has sharp edges and a point similar to an actual blade.
The constructs also burn, not unlike super-heated metal. The combination of the two can slice through most materials. Conventionally thicker or hardier materials are obviously more difficult to cut through, although Lana is sometimes able to manage it by concentrating.
The blade(s) cannot be wider than the length of her palm and she can shrink the energy to the width of her thumb, if need be. She can bend the energy into the likeness of a katana, cutlass, or other curved blade.
In only one, dire instance has Lana been able to expel her psionic energy in the form of a blast. She has not been able to replicate the power since, but it does suggest she will eventually be able to use force blasts after considerable training.
Her powers take on a whitish-green hue, and her eyes glow the same color when the powers are in use.
SECONDARY ABILITIES
Energy Absorption.
Lana can absorb moderate amounts of energy—psionic, magic, cosmic, etc.—into her own body. She cannot use her own psionic blades to do the job; she must absorb it with direct contact with her body. At its current level, she can only absorb energy to lengthen the duration that she is able to maintain her level of power. Eventually, with practice, she’ll be able to use the absorbed energy to add to her own power, rather than simply extend the duration of her current level of power.
Minor Telepathy.
Lana shares a minor telepathic link with her twin brother, Leon. She can sense his mood and general state of health, but that is currently the limit of their abilities. Think heightened twintuition.
WEAKNESSES
Her powers run on a kind of internal timer that pulls from her own energy. At her current level, absorbing other energy can replete some of her “timer.” With practice, it may be possible for her to use the absorbed energy to directly power her up instead of just increasing the duration.
When her energy resources run dry, she risks anything ranging from mental and physical exhaustion, collapse, becoming comatose, to death—depending on the severity of the drain. She can go anywhere from a few minutes to several solid hours of using her powers before requiring rest.
The longer the energy blade she constructs, the faster it depletes her resources. The harder the material she is attempting to cut through, or the more resistance she meets, the more rapidly the action drains her “timer.” She has only been able to form two maximum psionic constructs simultaneously (one for each hand).
Lana is only able to absorb a moderate amount of energy. For example, if she is hit by a psionic force blast beyond her power level, she may be able to absorb some of the energy to mitigate the force. She will, regardless, take a direct hit.
Lana cannot absorb Leon’s psionic energy, nor can he absorb hers.
